Texas Tiny Homes – Plan 1058 Pre-production Progress. As I continue the preliminary plan production on this plan, which is being designed for an Austin couple, it’s been a series of adjustments and tweaks to get the roof lines worked out with the wrap around porch. I create 2D renderings before handing the floor plan and final elevations off to one of our skilled draftsman who then build the plan in their 3D architectural software.
Every great home first requires a great set of construction plans. With this plan, I came up with three options for the side elevation. The first image above (Option 3) was the 1st one I did, but decided I wasn’t happy with it for multiple reasons. So I created (Option 1) was done in effort to create two separate roofs something option 3 didn’t have. To achieve the two separate roofs, the front wall height had to be raised up 2′ to provide enough exterior wall height to have two roofs, which would then provide a nice roof line across the front of the home that you are not seeing yet. I left the rear of the home with a 10′ exterior wall in option 1, creating two roof pitches on the main roof. I don’t have a problem with the two different roof pitches but the clients might, so I created option 2 below.
Option 2 features 12′ high walls throughout the home and it provides the same roof pitch on the main part of the home as well as a clean roof line across the front of the home. It will cost a little more to build than option 1 and option 3 due to it being a taller home but the additional expense will mainly be with the additional materials required.
Texas Tiny Homes is currently designing this fun plan for a really nice couple in Austin that features a gym, with a guest suite attached that has connecting bath with client lockers. The Hill Country style home includes a large wrap around porch on half the building. Their backyard home is 1650 square foot under roof and will be constructed on their 1.5 acre lot, behind their main house and next to their pool. The wife operates either a yoga business, or is a physical trainer with lots of clients. The attached suite features a full kitchen and is for out of town clients to book over night visits, as well as their out of town guests. Their new building will also serve as their pool and party house. Let us custom design a plan for you.
A new modified version of Plan 448, our most popular selling plan, is now in production and is getting a real staircase for the loft, and the ceiling in the loft is no longer like an “A Frame” room. No more scrunching, leaning over or ducking while in the large loft, or climbing a ladder.
This new modified version shifts the front of the home to what was the left side of the home on the original plan and will now included a cantilevered, boxed out window seat with built- in book cases in the boxed out seat area.
The new plan will have a farmhouse style elevation with painted white (or any color you choose) with a metal roof and stained front door. The plan can be built on piers and shown above, or on a slab foundation.
Texas Tiny Homes | Plan 618, one our most popular selling small house plans is now in full 3D production. I did the old school production for the plan 4 years ago. This new production will provide 3D renderings, and will make it easier to do modifications for future clients/customers. The Chief Architect 9 software that our draftsmen/architects use also provides a detailed materials list for the small house plan, and can also provide an HVAC plan for the home the original version did not provide.
These are some renderings of the upstairs bedroom suite in the now 614 square foot home, which has a full staircase leading up to it, and a full bathroom with shower stall.
The small luxury home also has a half bath/utility room with kitchen pantry downstairs. It has a good size living room and decent size covered front porch. The new production will be available in our online store in the next week or two. Let us design you a set of tiny home plans, or a set of small home plans. We also design lake home plans, as well as larger custom home plans.
